Where exactly do I meet my driver at Sydney Airport? #

At the meeting point we confirm with you for your arrival terminal. International arrivals come into T1. Domestic arrivals come into T2 or T3, so check your boarding pass for which one — T1 sits apart from T2 and T3, and they are not a short walk from each other.

Sydney Airport sets where booked cars are allowed to wait, and that is the airport's call, not ours. That is why we give you the meeting point when we confirm the trip rather than printing it on this page: trust what we confirmed, not memory. Your driver also sends an arrival message with the exact spot once your flight is on the ground. Write the meeting point down before you fly.

What happens while my flight is in the air? #

Nothing that needs you. Your flight number is on the trip, and the flight is tracked from the moment it leaves its departure airport. Early, late, or held on the tarmac somewhere else — the driver's schedule moves with the flight. There is nothing to ring, text or update from the air.

The time we work to is actual touchdown, not the scheduled arrival printed on your ticket. If an airline rebooks you onto a different flight, that is the one thing worth telling us: email the new flight number to bookings@wsitransfers.com.au, and the pickup follows the new arrival.

When does my free waiting time start? #

It starts at actual touchdown — not your scheduled arrival time, and not when you reach the kerb. Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting from actual landing, against 10 minutes for a home or hotel pickup, because immigration and baggage take what they take. The pricing page sets out the same terms.

Because the clock is tied to landing rather than to the time you requested, a three-hour delay does not eat into your free waiting: the whole window is still ahead of you when the wheels touch down. Waiting beyond it is $1 a minute.

What if I clear customs fast, or very slowly? #

Either way, go to the meeting point and stay there. Clear in fifteen minutes with hand luggage only and you may arrive before the driver has finished parking — that short wait is ours, not yours, and it is not charged to you. Clear slowly and the free waiting window is there for exactly that.

Slow is ordinary: a full belt, a stopped queue at the border, a bag pulled for biosecurity. Send one message if you can, so your driver knows you are through the doors and walking. If you cannot, the driver still holds the meeting point for the whole free waiting window, however slow the border is.

What if my flight is diverted, delayed overnight or cancelled? #

The tracking handles it. A diversion to another port, a return to the gate, an overnight delay — the pickup moves with the flight instead of expiring at the time you originally requested. You do not need to cancel and rebook because a flight went sideways in the air.

If your flight is cancelled outright and you are rebooked, email the new flight number to bookings@wsitransfers.com.au and the new arrival is what we watch. If you are not travelling at all, the cancellation and refund windows are set out in the refund policy. And Sydney Airport's 11pm–6am curfew has defined exemptions, so a badly delayed arrival can still land inside those hours; a tracked pickup meets it the same way.

How do I find my driver if my phone is dead or has no roaming data? #

Add meet & greet, and write down the meeting point before you leave home. With meet & greet your driver waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board, so finding each other needs no phone, no data and no call. On a long-haul arrival into T1 it is the one thing worth adding.

If your battery is flat and you did not add meet & greet, work through this in order:

  • Go to the meeting point we confirmed with you and stay put. Your driver is there through the free waiting window and is looking for you. Wandering between levels and doors is what makes people miss each other.
  • Carry it on paper or as a screenshot, not a link. Anything that has to load will not load without data. Save or print the meeting point, and any driver details you have been sent, before you fly.
  • Use terminal wifi if it is available. One message over wifi is enough to say you have landed, and it costs no roaming.
  • Ask airport staff for the pick-up area we named rather than searching car park levels on your own.
  • Do not leave the terminal building to look for the car. The car comes to you.

Is the airport access fee added at the kerb? #

No. It is already inside the fare you are quoted. Any access charge the airport applies to your pickup is itemised within the fixed fare, visible in the breakdown before you pay. Nothing is added when you get in, and there is no meter running.

Tolls, the access fee and any extras you chose sit in that one fixed number, which is what makes it comparable before you commit. For contrast, the airport train stations charge their own access fee per person on top of the Opal fare — $18.61 adult and $16.64 child, youth, concession or senior — and it sits outside the usual Opal daily cap, so a family of four pays it four times. How fares are built is on the pricing page.

FAQ

Pickup questions

Where exactly do I meet my driver at Sydney Airport?

We give you the meeting point for your terminal when we call to confirm your trip, and the driver's arrival message repeats it. Kerbside rules at SYD change from time to time, so we confirm the current arrangement for your trip rather than asking you to memorise this page.

What if I can't find my driver?

Stay near the arranged meeting point and message your driver on the contact details we send once a driver is assigned. Drivers are used to busy kerbs and will guide you in.

Is airport waiting time charged?

Airport pickups include a generous free waiting window measured from your actual landing time. Waiting beyond that is charged per the published waiting policy on the pricing page — but with flight tracking it rarely comes to that.

Do I need to send my flight number, or update it if the airline changes it?

Your flight number goes in when you request the fare and the flight is tracked from there — you do not need to confirm it again. If an airline moves you to a different flight, email the new number to bookings@wsitransfers.com.au. That is the only change that matters, because the pickup time is derived from the flight we are watching.

What does waiting cost if I am longer than the free window?

Beyond the free window, waiting is $1 a minute. Airport pickups carry 60 minutes of it, home and hotel pickups 10 minutes. Nothing else is added at the kerb — there is no meter and no call-out fee — so the only thing that changes what you pay is a change to the trip itself.

Can the driver meet me inside the terminal instead of at the pick-up point?

Yes — that is meet & greet. Your driver comes into the arrivals hall with a name board and walks you to the car. Add it when you request the fare and it is priced into the fixed fare. It suits T1 arrivals, first-time visitors, and anyone landing with children or a lot of luggage.

What happens if my flight lands after 11pm?

Sydney Airport has an 11pm–6am curfew, but it carries defined exemptions, so late arrivals do happen. Either way the pickup is tracked to actual touchdown, so it does not expire because the aircraft came in at 12.40am. Western Sydney International, which opens to passengers on 25 October 2026, has no curfew.
